It’s Monday night and I’m writing this now so that I can do some grad school research in the library tomorrow.

Caleb and I have been sick with colds all this past week so I’m kinda low on news. I spent a lot of my sick time watching my family’s favorite Bollywood film, “Kal Ho Naa Ho.” It is such a fun movie and stars Shah Rukh Khan who was a presenter at the Golden Globes last night. “And what did the ‘King of Bollywood’ present for?” you ask. For Slumdog Millionaire, of course!  It cleaned up! It won everything it was nominated for, best screenplay and best picture among others. See! *points to past posts* I knew what I was talking about!

A couple of days ago I wrote a little about Eloise so here’s that:

I spent a while outside the morning. It is a snow covered ice rink out there. I skidded my way to the gate and slid out into the field to Eloise. She is sitting there very patiently waiting for spring. I have had so much car-winterizing advice that I finally decided to ignore all of it.  People said, “Put her away!”

“Cover her up!”

“Get her off the grass!”

“Take the battery out!”

The problem is that I’m not really willing to spend any money on her that I don’t have too. Besides I had other people telling me not to worry about covering her up and that I could just start her every few days so that is what I’ve been doing so far. My taxi driver said that the main thing to worry about was keeping the undercarriage dry. So far, so good. If she doesn’t sink into the ground when it thaws I think we’ll be OK.

It seems like I should have more to talk about. Would you like to hear me ramble about grad schools? Taking the GRE? The possibility of finding a job I like in Kentucky? The farm on the creek? Those are all things that I think about on a regular basis without making just a whole lot of headway. But, maybe tomorrow will be the day! I suppose I should close this computer and get some sleep.

Jeopardy Question of the Day:

A: This rhyming piece of spelling advice has 50 exceptions in the English Language.

Q: What is, I before E except after C?

(I feel vindicated in my inability to figure out when to follow this rule.)
