Last time I gave a speech in Romanian I changed the whole layout of this blog.  I'm refraining from doing that tonight since I actually do need to go to bed before too long.  Narf!  I'm nervous.  Tomorrow I'll be talking to Moldovan farmers about pork production in the States.  I have it all writen out in Romanian and I do in fact understand what I'm saying.  It's just pronouncing everything right that will be the main problem.  I was going on about this last night to Dachen who put me properly in my place by talking about how he lead a conflict resolution discussion among 20 people last week.

I had a good weekend, complete with lots of eating at Aneta's b-day party on Saturday and lots of walking yesterday.  We took our trainees on a tour of Chisinau.  Dachen and I were paired up together with our trainees so there were 8 of us in all.  We took them to the bus stations, the PC office, Stefan Cel Mare (the main drag), and Aleppo for lunch.  It was fun and exhasting.  I learned some more about my trainees, Andrea grew up on a farm, Ryan was home schooled, and Steven likes Hitchhikers' Guide.  So, there you go, something in common with all of them.

One of my favorite things that happend yesterday was when I was standing on the sidewalk talking to the trainees and I heard an excited voice say, "Rachel!?"  It was Vera, my cousin from Danceni and my first Moldovan friend.  What a nice feeling, to be recognized on the streets of Chisinau.  Come to think of it another woman recognized Dachen.  Do you see how hard it is going to be for me to simply pass through places from now on?  I'm always going to be wanting to stay in one place long enough to identify with it, at least a little bit.

Along the same lines of warm fuzzy feelings, last weekend I was on a ruitiera with three talkative church builders (Don't look at me, that's what they said they were.)  They asked, "Where did you learn to speak Romanian so beautifully?"  And they kept on wishing me good health and happiness until I had to get off the bus.

Friday I'll be back in Chisinau as I got roped into some sort of committee.  I'll probably spend Friday night there cause Saturday is the Wine Festival.

People in Danceni were getting excited 'cause tonight is the start of S2 of LOST on the Russian channel.  We're exactly a year behind the States.  Everybody remember it's THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!!! Find out what is going to happen to Kate, Jack, and Sawyer who presently have sacks over their heads.  Find out if everybody survived the hatch implosion!  Tune in to you local ABC affiliate!
